He's also got a fantastic black metal side project called "Dragonlord" (which I sang guest vocals on). 

We've been friends for years, having met in Vancouver through mutual friends. We ended up jamming a few times and kind of hit it off! We were both so busy with our current lives and projects that we didn't do anything then but kept in touch. 

Finally, one day, Eric sends me this guitar riff through Whatsapp.

And I immediately ran to the piano to see if I could build upon it. And from there, we just sent ideas back and forth through Whatsapp until we were able to get proper recordings of it. 

It's an interesting thing, combining his background with my background.

Eric comes from the thrash scene, and I come from a very ethereal, ambient metal scene. 

Plus, did you know he had me sing on the latest Dragonlord record? You'll hear me in the female choirs, and some solo bits as well!
