Why I Chose the Celtic & Fantasy Genres
There has been a lot of interest on what drew me into the Celtic and/or fantasy genre, and there are many answers.
Like many other people, I was drawn in from movies, TV shows, other music, literature, and history!
For example, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring was the gateway for me into many other fantasy films. But I could name so many other great movies like Braveheart and the Princess Bride!
I also love the show Outlander – the romance, comedy, adventure, tragedy, fighting, redemption. Everything about it is so good!
But a big part of what drew me to a Celtic style and theme is simply it’s in my blood. My family’s heritage comes from the British Isles and the Celts. It’s hard to explain why a certain musical culture resonates with you, but there’s something really magical about Celtic instruments.
And of course exposure to artists like Enya and Loreena McKennitt drew me in. It made life feel like a moving soundtrack!
